Mission
Leadership
Leadership is about humility and bringing the best out of your people in a tangible way by recognizing their areas of strength as well as their areas of weakness. Every employee is a “project.” A good leader recognizes that and puts a plan in place to continuously upgrade his people’s abilities, not only for the sake of the company, but also for the sake of the employee. As a leader who is driving the vision, it is your responsibility to make sure you are preparing your staff for the iterations of growth and the complexities of today’s business environment. Failure to do so and failure to align the company vision with the goals of the staff will cause burn-out and turnover.
Technology
Technology is the greatest equalizer known to man in its ability to provide the smallest company in the most remote areas of the world, the same capabilities as a company in downtown New York. Today’s companies must constantly pursue the latest changes in technology to learn how to harness what will help mature a company and allow it to scale at a quicker pace. All companies are becoming technology companies, no matter the offering, staying current isn’t for hobbyists, it is a prerequisite for business success.
Global Learning
Being a continuous learner is necessary for today's global work environment. Not only as it relates to the success of the company, but also as it pertains to personal growth. People like to work for people they can learn from. This means we must always be seeking to learn and grow. With the world being interconnected it is incredibly important to be astute in world affairs. With issues in one country having the ability to affect sales in another, understanding the world stage and product interdependencies is key.
Startups
Good ideas alone do not a company make – it is important to work those ideas and see if they have merit. All startup’s seek to fix something that appears to be broken or can be done better. Paying attention to business models and learning what works for others and applying those lessons is key to maximizing growth potential. A startup is a rapidly evolving organization that has the ability to match the pace of change, fall behind, or lead the pack. That's the existential issue at stake in today's digitally-infused times, where bold action must be actively supported by out-of-the-box experimentation and path-finding.
Networking
Networking is critical. It is your opportunity to learn from others and have valuable specific conversations that can help you, while giving you the ability to help others. With today’s technology, reaching out to others is not only easier it is a necessity that can help avoid pitfalls within business or help speed up adoption of best practices. Having a group of like-minded peers with different backgrounds and abilities is incredibly valuable. They say you are most like the five people you are with the most – in networking you want to choose wisely.
Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship is a vital part of any economy and takes a tremendous amount of drive and vision to be successful. In this day and age research is key, and with the ever-changing landscape of technology, staying on top of those changes is of paramount importance. There are multiple pillars within any start-up that have to be well-vetted and thought through. The variance of tasks, planning, management and production can be overwhelming. Then there is making sure the right mix of talent is available and can do the work required. If not well planned and entrepreneur can be easily overwhelmed.
